Everton ‘to finalise new transfer’ as £25m Onyedika twist emerges
Everton and West Ham are reportedly extremely keen on the signing of Raphael Onyedika this summer.
The 24-year-old is on the back of an impressive season at Club Brugge and he could be on the move in the coming weeks.
He joined the Belgian side from Midtjylland in 2022 and has been a regular for them since then.

Onyedika pursuit intensifies as Club Brugge want £25m
According to Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri (25 June), both the Toffees and the Hammers are keen on signing the Nigeria international.
That said, both sides are said to be in pole position to finalise the transfer.
Competition | Matches | Goals | Assists | Yellow Cards | Reds | Minutes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Jupiler Pro League | 25 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 1,688 |
UEFA Champions League | 11 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 940 |
Jupiler Pro League Champions’ Play-Offs | 9 | 0 | 0 | 4 | 0 | 763 |
Croky Cup | 6 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 386 |
Pro League Supercup | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 34 |
Total 24/25 | 52 | 2 | 2 | 9 | 0 | 3,811 |
However, the Hammers’ interest is said to be more “concrete”, as things stand, in the quest to sign Onyedika.
Brugge are looking for a fee in the range of £25million to part ways with one of their prized assets.
Everton must follow up with a bid for Onyedika
Onyedika would be a solid addition for Everton and they must look to beat West Ham to his services.
His skillset would significantly enhance the Toffees’ midfield, which will be without Abdoulaye Doucoure and potentially Idrissa Gueye.
The 24-year-old Club Brugge star combines defensive solidity with press-resistant ball control and dynamic bursts, likened to Paul Pogba.
His versatility to play as a defensive or central midfielder suits David Moyes’ need for a robust, ball-carrying presence.
Onyedika’s two goals and two assists last season, including a Champions League strike, show his attacking contribution.
At £25million, his physicality, technical ability and experience would provide Everton with stability and flair to bolster their relegation fight.
