Everton fans ‘get the news they crave’ as Sky Sports drop new striker update
Everton fans could be forgiven for feeling a little nervous during this summer’s transfer window.
Their club are yet to announce any new signings and are in danger of losing first-team stars on free transfers due to their contracts expiring.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has already announced that he won’t be signing a new contract and will leave the club officially on 1 July.
However, there has been some good news regarding Everton’s hunt for a new striker – or strikers.

Everton in market for two strikers
Everton have agreed a new contract with captain Seamus Coleman and will hope to tie down a couple more first-team stars this week.
However, the hunt for new players will also be important as they prepare for a new season in the Premier League.
Sky Sports News issued an update about Everton’s hopes in the transfer market on Sunday (29 June, 19:14), with reporter Mark McAdam insisting the hunt for two new strikers – rather than just one – was a priority for the Toffees.
He said: “We know they’re looking for two strikers off the back of this [Calvert-Lewin] decision. Two number nines are going to be key. Beto is there, but there is interest in him.
“Also, a left-back and a number six. There could be five or six new faces for David Moyes, and the key thing is two strikers.”
Everton fans will be pleased that the club are hunting for at least two strikers, as Calvert-Lewin’s departure leaves them noticeably short in this position.

Everton must look to future after parting ways with Calvert-Lewin
Calvert-Lewin made an official farewell post on social media on Sunday, and a lot of fans are sad to see him go.
The England striker was a deadly marksman for Everton during his prime, although his output in the last few years has been disappointing. Injuries have got the better of him in recent seasons, and that would have been considered during contract negotiations.

The best way to get over the disappointment of losing a beloved striker is to sign someone even better, and that will be David Moyes’ priority in the coming weeks.
Thierno Barry appears to be a key target. The French striker is a tall and strong target man in the mould of Calvert-Lewin, and he’s only 22 years old.
If Everton could seal his signing alongside a skilful forward like Hamza Igamane, it might not be long until fans are asking ‘Dominic who?’
