Alan Myers drops final piece of Everton transfer news while working for Sky Sports
Alan Myers has long been a reliable source of news on Everton over the decades.
The Sky Sports journalist has provided multiple updates on the Toffees’ transfer news so far this summer.
Earlier in June, Myers confirmed that Everton wanted to sign at least four players in the window.
However, despite the reporter leaving Sky Sports on 30 June, he still managed to break important transfer news at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Kenny Tete ‘unlikely to sign for Everton’ as Myers leaves Sky Sports
The Fulham full-back had been a regular for the London club in the Premier League and has helped them become a mid-table side.
In addition to this, Tete has also been an international player, earning 14 caps for the Netherlands between 2015 and 2021.
However, speculation surrounding his future rose this summer as his contract is set to expire.
Now, Myers has shared via X (30 June) that Tete is “unlikely” to sign for Everton, with a new contract at Fulham lined up.
He wrote: “Increasingly unlikely that Kenny Tete will sign for Everton, defender is likely to sign a new contract with Fulham, nothing confirmed as yet.”
On the same platform, the reporter also took the moment to say goodbye to Sky Sports, with him now set to become a freelance journalist.
Tete was always a risky signing for Moyes
In many ways, it is a positive that Moyes is not going to sign the Dutchman.
Tete has a horrendous injury record, and the right-back could prove to be a massive liability at the Merseyside club, in an area that is already hit hard by fitness issues.
With Everton reportedly proposing a three-year deal, this was no doubt a recipe for disaster.
Kenny Tete’s injury record at Fulham | Season | Games missed |
Calf injury | 2020/21 | 14 |
Fitness issue | 2020/21 | 7 |
Corona virus | 2020/21 | 1 |
Thigh problems | 2021/22 | 11 |
Grion injury | 2021/22 | 5 |
Knock | 2022/23 | 6 |
Groin problems | 2023/24 | 8 |
Achilles tendon problems | 2023/24 | 2 |
Knee problem | 2024/25 | 19 |
Therefore, Moyes moving on to other targets is for the best if the Scotsman is to finally end Everton’s issues in this position.
Hopefully, the manager has a player in mind and will quickly make a move before he misses out on yet another transfer target.
