‘Beto exit edges closer at Everton’ as David Moyes transfer demands emerge

Everton will be in the market for several attacking signings this summer.

Even before Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s exit was announced, it was evident that the Toffees needed new bodies in the attacking areas of the pitch, though those needs have only been amplified since.

Everton appear to be progressing in a deal to sign Thierno Barry from Villarreal, with the Frenchman set to become the Toffees’ second signing of the summer transfer window.

However, the latest update from Merseyside could spell bad news for Beto, whose future has been up in the air since the conclusion of the previous campaign.

Barry’s arrival set to be followed by others at Everton

If a deal for Barry is completed as expected, it will be a huge coup for the Toffees, though it will only be the first of many in the attacking department.

That is because, according to The i Paper (2 July), David Moyes is intent on adding several new attackers to his squad this summer.

The report adds that the Scotsman is looking to add pace and power to his front line, which ultimately doesn’t sound great for the future of Beto.

Beto has been linked with Leeds United, and with Moyes looking to transform Everton’s attacking identity, the striker is only likely to fall down the pecking order.

At 27 years old, he will be wanting to play regular first-team football, and if these arrivals happen, that is unlikely to come with the Toffees, potentially opening the door for him to move on.

Moyes can achieve something special if backed this summer

Moyes has already worked wonders since his appointment at Everton, and this summer is The Friedkin Group’s first chance to really back the 62-year-old and give him the tools to succeed.

That is the task that awaits TFG, who will be looking to match their words with their actions and show some real ambition this summer.
