Everton news round-up: Walker-Peters latest as £26m defender deal could be on

Everton are looking to accelerate their summer transfer business, in what is set to be a busy couple of months on Merseyside.

The Toffees have let several experienced players leave so far, and will need to rebuild their squad with depth heavily lacking under David Moyes.

Everton are closing in on one deal as they aim to strengthen their attacking options, and will aim to supplement this with reinforcements to their back line.

Kenny Tete has rejected a move to Merseyside, but a deal for Kyle Walker-Peters could now be on the cards, as Goodison News brings a round-up of the latest transfer news on 4 July.

Everton close to Thierno Barry deal

Everton are now closing in on the signing of Villarreal striker Thierno Barry, with a deal edging closer to completion.

Barry will join after scoring 11 goals in La Liga last season, as a new striker for Moyes, with the 22-year-old keen on a move, while the two clubs continue talks over a move.

Although inexperienced, the Frenchman could be a strong long-term option if he reaches his potential, but fans may need to show patience with him.

Everton interested in Morten Frendrup

Everton need to strengthen their midfield options, and Genoa star Morten Frendrup is being targeted.

Genoa are reportedly open to a sale for around £21.5million, and Tim Iroegbunam could end up leaving as a result if he arrives.

Everton keen on Walker-Peters as wage demands emerge

Everton are keen on Walker-Peters as a new right-back this summer, with the former Southampton star a free agent.

It has now emerged that the 27-year-old will command a wage of just £20,000 per week, making him a very affordable option for Everton.

With Ashley Young departing, a new right-back is a necessity, and Walker-Peters can cover on both flanks if necessary.

Everton to sign Wesley in FFP-motivated deal

Everton are said to be close to signing another right-back in Flamengo defender Wesley.

It has been reported that Everton will spend £25.9million to sign him, but will loan him straight to Roma with an obligation to buy.

The Friedkin Group are behind the deal, which could see the FFP situation next summer boosted, but this is certainly a bizarre turn of events.
