Everton set to start ‘unprecedented recruitment drive’ amid Barry announcement news
Thierno Barry is closing in on becoming Everton’s first signing of the summer.
The Villarreal striker impressed in his first season in Spain and netted 11 goals.
A £27.5 million move is close to being agreed between the two clubs, with the Frenchman set to move to the Premier League.
As a result, the attacker will be expected to finally end the Toffees’ woes up top.

Barry set to be first of many Everton signings this summer
David Moyes will know that he needs multiple new additions this summer.
Everton have stagnated in recent years and are constantly flirting with relegation.
Thankfully, according to The i Paper, back page (3 July), the Toffees are set to make multiple new additions after Barry this summer.
The report states that the loosening of financial restrictions will see Everton go on an “unprecedented recruitment drive”.
The Merseyside club are preparing to flex their muscles in the market, with multiple positions to fill, but they are still planning on retaining their discipline.
This is why the deal for Barry has taken so long, with the two clubs still in discussion about the potential add-ons.
An agreement is likely to be reached next week, although it is still possible within the coming days, with Barry set to sign a five-year deal.

Moyes will be expecting more attacking additions
With Everton set to spend more money this summer, Moyes will be expecting additional attackers.
The Toffees only netted 42 Premier League goals last season, the lowest outside of the bottom three.
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin also departing Everton, there will be an expectation that another striker will be brought in.

Barry cannot fix the Merseyside club’s attacking issues by himself and will need additional support up top.
Hopefully, Moyes has a target in mind and will look to make an offer once the deal for the Frenchman is confirmed.
