Everton ‘transfer lift-off imminent’ as Barry plans shared
Thierno Barry is closing in on a transfer to Everton.
Transfer activity is starting to heat up on Merseyside, with Everton hoping to seal several new arrivals before the end of the month.
One who is looking likely to make the move is Villareal’s Barry, who is believed to have agreed terms with the Toffees.
The Frenchman could be the one to rectify Everton’s woes in front of goal, with a fresh update emerging on the transfer.

Barry due to jet in to England ahead of Everton move
Barry has been on the radar for some time now and is closing on a move to David Moyes’ side for a reported £34.4million.
Now, according to a report in the print edition of Le Figaro Sport (5 July, pg27), the 22-year-old is set to travel to England to formalise the final details of the deal.
Barry’s 2024/25 La Liga statistics | Total |
Appearances (starts) | 35 (25) |
Goals | 11 |
Expected goals (xG) | 12.41 |
Goal conversion | 15% |
Assists | 4 |
Big chances created | 7 |
Barry netted 11 goals in La Liga last season, having impressed at Basel the season before.
With five caps for France’s Under-21 setup, a move to the Premier League could be just what he needs to find a way to break into the first-team picture.

Moyes needs more additions of a similar calibre to Barry
Everton are showing plenty of ambition with the signing of Barry, though they can’t afford to let that stop there, with several more additions needed.
A new winger will be high up on the list of priorities, as well as a full-back amid links to Kyle Walker-Peters after his exit from Southampton.
TFG have some exciting things planned for the future of Everton, and this summer provides them with the perfect opportunity to set the wheels in motion towards achieving that.
The hope will be that Barry’s arrival will be closely followed by one or two others ahead of pre-season training.
