Everton make ‘huge’ decision to go ahead with £13m Vagiannidis transfer
Everton have been linked with a move to secure the services of Panathinaikos right-back Georgios Vagiannidis.
David Moyes was keen on Kenny Tete, but he ended up signing a new contract at Fulham.
However, that has not stopped the Scotsman and the Toffees’ pursuit of bringing in a new right-back this summer.
Vagiannidis offered to the Toffees and AS Roma
According to Sport TV Portugal journalist Sebastiao Sousa-Pinto, the Toffees were offered a chance to sign the 23-year-old.
Everton have been linked with Vagiannidis, who’s available for £13million, and along with Roma, were given a chance by the Greek side to sign him.
However, both sides opted against securing his services and are expected to pursue other alternatives.

The Greek defender has enjoyed a decent career at Panathinaikos and a summer exit is on the cards for him.
However, a move to Merseyside does not appear to be a likely possibility, as things stand.
Everton must prioritise a right-back imminently
Everton must prioritise signing a new right-back imminently due to their current squad’s vulnerabilities.
With Seamus Coleman ageing at 36 and injury-prone, Ashley Young leaving, and Nathan Patterson’s inconsistent fitness and form, the position lacks reliable depth.
A quality right-back is crucial for defensive stability and attacking balance, especially as the Toffees transition to their new stadium, aiming to elevate their Premier League performance under Moyes.
However, Vagiannidis, despite his potential, is not the ideal solution.
The 23-year-old Panathinaikos defender excels in attacking metrics, like progressive passes and crosses, but his defensive stats are underwhelming, which is a concern for Everton’s need for solidity.
His limited top-tier experience, primarily in Greece, raises doubts about his readiness for the Premier League’s intensity.
Everton require a proven, defensively robust right-back to complement their squad’s immediate needs, making Vagiannidis a risky choice.
