Everton transfer round-up: Talks underway with winger as Moyes dodges bullet
Everton’s summer has finally got lift-off as they begin to attack potential signings from all fronts.
The Toffees have been slow to venture into the summer market but have made noticeable progress over the past couple of days.
However, the Blues are now open for business, having signed Thierno Barry from Villarreal on Wednesday (9 July).
Barry, along with the permanent signing of Carlos Alcaraz, is a good start, but fans will no doubt want more.
And Everton may be prepared to give it to them as Goodison News rounds up the transfer latest.

Everton yet to rule out Armstrong loan transfer
Harrison Armstrong could leave Everton on loan again this summer
The Toffees are said to have not yet ruled out sending him on another temporary move ahead of the forthcoming season.
However, it is believed that David Moyes wants to take a closer look at the midfielder during pre-season and will likely be involved in the tour in the United States.
But with Derby County keen to acquire his services for another season, it remains to be seen how this transfer will pan out.

Everton to hijack Sporting CP move for Georgios Vagiannidis
Sporting CP are interested in signing Georgios Vagiannidis and met with his representatives on Monday (7 July).
The Toffees were linked with the Greek international earlier this summer and could swoop in for him as talks are not advancing.
Panathinaikos are asking for around £13million to secure his transfer, which could convince the Blues to go all in. In the current market, the deal would be a good one for the Toffees to make.

Everton approach PSV for winger Johan Bakayoko
Everton are among several sides to have contacted PSV over a possible move for Johan Bakayoko.
This comes after a potential Everton return for Jack Harrison is deemed wide off the mark, with the club now scrambling to sign another winger.
Bakayoko’s contract expires next year, and he could be available for only £17million, plus add-ons.
Player | Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Johan Bakayoko | 2024/25 | 47 | 12 | 3 |
As a result, with Moyes looking to build a team that competes at the highest level, there is every chance that Everton exercise all options to bring him in.
Everton dodge bullet in Ferguson transfer update
Evan Ferguson was touted to become one of the best strikers in the Premier League when he climbed through the ranks at Brighton.
But, countless injuries and inconsistent performances later and he has been widely reported to be eyeing up a move abroad.
However, it has now been reported that the Toffees were offered the chance to sign Ferguson, with Roma and Atalanta now competing for his signature.
The Brighton forward was first linked to Everton earlier in the summer, but their interest never materialised.
But with the Toffees looking to compete at the highest level next season, and Ferguson still needing time to develop, Moyes may have dodged a bullet with this one.
