Everton told chances of signing Douglas Luiz as fee revealed
According to Mediaset journalist Gianni Balzarini, the Toffees are serious about securing the Brazilian’s services.
Currently, they are not on the same page with regards to Juventus about the valuation of the 27-year-old.
The Italian side are looking for a total of around £35million in order to part ways with their midfielder.
Competition | Season | Matches Played | Goals | Assists | Yellow Cards | Red Cards |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Serie A | 2024-25 | 19 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 0 |
UEFA Champions League | 2024-25 | 6 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Supercoppa Italiana | 2025 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
However, Everton are willing to offer just £26million for Luiz, but know they have to up their offer in order to sign him.
Balzarini said: “So we talked about the exit options. There’s Douglas Luiz, who Everton are acting quite seriously for.
“Juve want to make €40m. A guarantee of €10m plus €30m. Everton are currently reaching €30m overall. I think an agreement will be reached there too.
“Everyone has their own opinion, for some he’s very strong, for others he’s a dud, you see how in football there are a wide variety of opinions, one diametrically opposed to the other, so everyone has their own opinion, but Douglas Luiz is officially on his way out.”
David Moyes can bring the best out of Luiz
David Moyes is the ideal manager to maximise Luiz’s potential at Everton due to his proven track record of developing midfielders and implementing disciplined, pragmatic systems.
Luiz, a dynamic box-to-box midfielder, thrives in high-pressing, structured setups.
Moyes’ 4-2-3-1 formation, successfully used at the Toffees and West Ham, would allow the 27-year-old to anchor the midfield alongside James Garner.
The Scotsman’s emphasis on work rate and tactical clarity aligns with Luiz’s energy and versatility, while his experience nurturing talents ensures personalised coaching to refine the midfielder’s decision-making and goal-scoring.
With Everton aiming to avoid relegation primarily, Moyes’ stability and Luiz’s quality could form a formidable partnership, elevating the their midfield dynamism.
