Everton door opens to hijack Woltemade transfer amid late Bayern Munich twist

Nick Woltemade has been heavily linked to Everton throughout the transfer window.

The striker was fantastic for Stuttgart last season and was key to the side winning the German Cup.

Overall, he netted 17 times in all competitions, with this form continuing in the Under 21s European Championships, where he won the Golden Boot.

Despite the Toffees’ interest, Bayern Munich looked set to land Woltemade. However, the transfer saga has now taken a late twist.

Bayern Munich ‘temporarily withdraw’ from Woltemade saga

It had been reported earlier in the window that Woltemade had agreed personal terms with Bayern ahead of a potential transfer.

While Stuttgart want to keep hold of their star man, the German international wants to move to the German giants.

However, journalist Julian Agardi has reported via X (20 July) that Bayern Munich have now “temporarily withdrawn” from the transfer saga and will now prioritise Luis Diaz.

Stuttgart are not willing to compromise on their asking price, and the transfer could now fall through.

As it stands, Bayern Munich do not intend to make a third offer for the striker.

Now, Everton have the perfect chance to strike a deal and hijack the transfer for Woltemade.

With Bayern temporarily out of the race, David Moyes could look to tempt Woltemade to the Toffees.

Everton no doubt have the financial capabilities to make this happen, and should now look to make a move.

A new striker has to be Everton’s priority

With it now being less than a month until the start of the Premier League season, a new striker has to be Everton’s priority.

While Thierno Barry has joined the Toffees this summer, Beto is still linked away from Everton

Therefore, a new striker is a must and Woltemade could seal a sensational partnership with Barry up top.

Hopefully, Moyes will look to seal the transfer before the end of July.
