‘Everton to land Jacob Ramsey’ amid Hill Dickinson Stadium claim – Exclusive

Everton have emerged as a potential suitor for Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey over the last few days.

The midfielder endured a frustrating season last time out, as he received limited opportunities to start as a result of the strong competition within the squad at Villa Park.

The Toffees are now keen to bring Ramsey to Merseyside, as they look to conclude a deal worth in the region of £30million for the 24-year-old.

David Moyes is hopeful of continuing the turnaround he oversaw at the back end of last season, but he will need quality additions like Ramsey if he is to achieve that goal.

Hill Dickinson Stadium could give Everton the edge in Ramsey hunt

Everton are far from the only club who are interested in Ramsey this summer, with the likes of Nottingham Forest and West Ham also admirers of the Villa academy graduate.

It seems increasingly likely that he will be playing his football away from his boyhood club next term, and the Toffees must surely feel they are well-placed to secure his signature as they transition into a new era at the club.

Ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium could be a decisive factor to help Moyes and Co. beat Forest and West Ham to Ramsey’s signature.

“All three clubs are in similar positions, apart from what Forest did last year,” King said.

“I think Everton are now going to be a club that you can throw in the hat with teams of this nature, because the big thing is the new stadium. That could be a draw for any player.

“The training facilities at Finch Farm are first class as well, so anybody joining Everton is joining a very well-structured club.”

Ramsey could revitalise his career at Everton

Everton’s recent pre-season friendly against Blackburn will have brought several issues to Moyes’ attention, including the lack of creativity within the side.

Ramsey’s progress has stalled somewhat in the last few seasons, but his early years in the first team at Villa provide enough evidence that he could be a spark in the final third for the Toffees.

Abdoulaye Doucoure’s departure will potentially leave a gap in the advanced midfield role, and the out-of-favour star could be the ideal option to fill it.

Moyes has a reputation for getting the best out of players, and he could be capable of revitalising Ramsey by putting an arm around his shoulder and making him an important part of his team.
