‘Luiz to become regular under Moyes’ as Everton submit offer – Exclusive
Everton could now bring Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz back to the Premier League.
Luiz has fallen badly out of favour at Juventus, who are keen to get him off their books before the 2025/26 campaign gets underway.
Everton have shown a strong interest in Luiz in recent days, as they prepare to hand the former Aston Villa midfielder an opportunity to return to England after one season on the continent.
David Moyes will be hopeful of lifting the Toffees into the top half of the table next term, and Luiz’s potential arrival should go a long way towards helping the 62-year-old achieve that goal.
Everton and West Ham submit offers for Luiz
As well as Everton, West Ham are also looking to bring Luiz back to England.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (20 July, pg 16), both sides have now submitted offers for Luiz.
Ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes the Brazilian would become a regular under Moyes on Merseyside.
“It could be a really exciting signing for Everton,” King said.
“I would imagine he (Luiz) is a player that would really interest Moyes. To take him on a season-long loan with an option to buy, that could be a win-win situation for all parties, as he obviously didn’t settle in Italy at all.
“Everton finished 13th last season, and I would imagine Luiz will be looking to play in major competitions. It could be a good way for them to open the door for that. If he’s brought in, I would imagine he will be a regular at Everton.”
Luiz would be a strong addition for Everton
Everton’s pre-season friendly against Blackburn on Saturday (19 July) once again showed their need to add extra creativity ahead of their return to competitive action.
Luiz is a player who would be capable of providing that, having become a hugely productive figure at Aston Villa in the latter stages of his spell in the West Midlands.

The 27-year-old is adept at playing at the base of the midfield, or in a more advanced role, and possesses the kind of delivery from dead-ball situations that could be a real weapon for the Toffees.
Luiz is someone who could bring proven quality to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and Everton should be doing everything they can to get a deal over the line.
