‘Weah agreement reached’ as Everton-linked winger set for £13m transfer

Timothy Weah has been heavily linked with a move to Everton this summer.

David Moyes will be somewhat frustrated with the lack of transfer activity at Everton so far this summer, with Thierno Barry the only new arrival that is likely to have any real influence in the coming season.

Though with less than a month until the new Premier League campaign gets underway, the Toffees will need to accelerate plans if they are to bring new bodies through the door.

Weah had been heavily linked with a move to Merseyside, with a new update emerging on his potential summer exit from Juventus.

Juventus set to sanction loan-to-buy exit for Weah

Albeit he won’t be much of a miss in terms of contributions, Jack Harrison‘s exit means that the Toffees will need to sign a new winger before August, and they had set their sights on USMNT international Weah.

However, as reported by Fabrice Hawkins via X (20 July), Juventus are now in advanced negotiations with Marseille over a loan-to-buy deal worth up to £13million.

Weah is said to have a preliminary agreement in place with the Ligue 1 outfit and has already set his sights on playing their next season, with a five-year contract ready.

As for Everton, their attention will now have to turn elsewhere, with what appears to be another failed summer transfer.

Moyes needs to see more movement at Everton

The Scotsman worked wonders last season, rebuilding from the ground up after the mess left by Sean Dyche.

That progress can continue this season, but only if the right recruitment plans are in place, and with the season due to start in a few weeks, time is running out.

Everton are still in need of several new additions this summer, though it is crucial that they are the right ones.
