Douglas Luiz transfer twist emerges after Everton offer to Juventus

Everton could see their plans this transfer window affected regarding Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz.

The Brazil international has struggled since his move to the Bianconeri after thriving at Aston Villa, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him look for pastures new in the coming weeks.

Luiz is attracting interest at Bramley-Moore Dock, with the Blues reportedly submitting an offer for the 27-year-old midfielder.

It’s been claimed that the ex-Manchester City ace has put David Moyes on hold for now as he looks at other options, but a twist has emerged.

Everton not in discussions for Luiz transfer with Juventus

Luiz’s move to the Toffees isn’t being worked on right now, Alan Myers says.

The former Sky Sports reporter revealed on X (20 July) that the Blues aren’t in discussions for the 27-year-old’s transfer to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

With fans anticipating The Friedkin Group (TFG) to make a significant investment this summer, the Brazilian national seems like the profile of player they should be targeting.

While the ex-Villa star hasn’t been at his best in Serie A, his displays in the Premier League caught a lot of people’s attention.

Carlos Alcaraz’s loan from Flamengo was made permanent after the end of last season, but the Merseyside outfit could do with more quality in their squad.

James Garner and Idrissa Gueye formed a decent partnership under Moyes in the previous campaign, but it will be interesting to see whether they can take the Toffees further up the table.

Moyes should push for Luiz transfer at Bramley-Moore Dock

Moyes did brilliantly after replacing Sean Dyche at Goodison Park, and TFG should now back the Scottish manager before the end of August.

Thierno Barry and Mark Travers have been the only other additions to the squad this summer, and Everton fans are getting anxious due to the lack of incoming transfers.

The Toffees evidently needed to bolster their team this summer after losing several players whose contracts expired recently.

If Moyes seemingly has any hopes of getting the Blues into a European spot in the upcoming campaign, they will evidently need more quality on their bench, which Luiz’s arrival can help with.
