Everton midfielder David Moyes likes ‘set for exit’

David Moyes will be aiming for a good first season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, the new home of Everton.

The Scotsman did a lot more than steadying the ship when he took over from Sean Dyche last season.

However, with players leaving and joining this summer, the expectations will be to push for a top-ten finish.

Harrison Armstrong likely to have queue of clubs waiting to sign him

According to Alan Nixon (21 July), Harrison Armstrong could be on his way out of the club this summer.

Moyes is an admirer of the 18-year-old, who spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Derby County.

He was a regular for the Championship outfit and even helped them avoid relegation.

Armstrong also scored his first senior goal and Derby coach John Eustace wanted him back for the upcoming campaign.

In case he does leave this summer, there will be a queue of clubs waiting in the wings to secure his services.

Everton must consider loaning Armstrong out for another season

Everton must consider loaning out Armstrong for the coming season to prioritise his long-term development.

The 18-year-old midfielder, who impressed during his loan at Derby County, showcased his potential by playing 15 matches, starting 12 and scoring a crucial goal to help Derby avoid relegation.

Despite his readiness for senior football, the Toffees’ first-team midfield is likely to be crowded with experienced players, limiting the teenager’s playing time.

Another Championship loan, ideally to a promotion-challenging club, would ensure regular minutes, vital for his growth at this stage.

His physicality and versatility make him a standout prospect, but without consistent game time, his progress could stall.

A loan move offers the perfect balance as he gains invaluable experience while Everton retain control of their prized academy talent for future integration.
