Everton secure ‘sensible’ Travers transfer as PSR update emerges – Exclusive
Everton were expected by many to conduct a substantial amount of business ahead of their move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
However, the Toffees have been chugging along in the transfer market, completing three deals thus far.
The Merseyside club clinched the permanent signing of Carlos Alcaraz, while Thierno Barry arrived from Villarreal.
Everton’s most recent acquisition is Mark Travers, who joined the North West outfit from Bournemouth for £4million.

Travers deal a sensible signing for Everton
Travers may be behind Jordan Pickford in the Everton ranks, but Ian Darke believes that the 26-year-old has secured quite the pay rise.
The Republic of Ireland international would have faced the same scenario on the South Coast as the Cherries have signed Djordje Petrovic.
Football finance expert Dan Plumley – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – has provided insight on the £4million deal, with a four-year contract signed, helping PSR at the same time.
“Nice little easy divide by, isn’t it?” he said.
“It’ll cost them £1million a year in amortisation, which will be the one that goes against the PSR calculation.
“We said this with Everton, we know they’ve had their challenges, they’ve still got to be mindful of the regulatory framework in the Premier League in terms of what they’re operating in.
“But, with that new ownership, new stadium, and ability to generate slightly higher revenue in the future, that’s going to help.
“In the grand scheme of things, if you’re looking at booking a transfer that’s going to cost you £1million over that contract per year, then that certainly feels more affordable.
“It’s a smart little bit of business, and again, it kind of stands to reason, as we predicted, that they’re not able to or looking to break the bank.
“It’s more sensible transfers for want of a better word, in terms of fee and structure.”

Toffees must now plug gaps in David Moyes’ squad
While there is plenty of time left in the transfer window, the Premier League season is just weeks away.
With that in mind, the Merseyside club have several positions they need to strengthen if they are to be ready.
Everton are without any natural right-wingers, while they only have three recognised centre-backs.
Although there is sizeable hype around the Toffees, they still have work to do.
