‘Granit Xhaka to unlock cut-price Everton transfer’ as agreement now in place

Thierno Barry is the only major addition made so far this summer, though the future of Granit Xhaka could be set to impact that.
The 32-year-old, previously of Arsenal, could be in line for a move back to the Premier League, which would open a door for the Toffees.
Sunderland could sanction midfield exit this summer
Sunderland are said to have reached an agreement with Xhaka over a potential summer transfer, though they remain locked in negotiations with Leverkusen over the fee [Mackem News].
Should that deal go through, he would become their fourth midfield arrival and push several stars down the pecking order.
One of those will be Dan Neil, who has previously been linked with a move to Everton.

The 23-year-old is in his final year at Sunderland, and given the lack of game time expected for him, he’s unlikely to sign off on a new deal anytime soon.
With that in mind, Everton may look to rekindle their interest and sign the Englishman for what would likely be a discounted price given his contract situation.
Moyes could turn Neil into a more than capable midfielder
Neil impressed for the Black Cats last season, though he has seemingly been deemed as nothing but depth for their return to the Premier League.
However, at just 23 years old, his best days are yet to come, and the Toffees would be taking no risk by signing him this summer.
Sunderland are unlikely to demand overly much, given the fact that he can negotiate a free transfer abroad in just six months.
