Lionel Messi-esque attacker to clear medical as Everton eye transfer
This story includes exclusive opinion from injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar.
Everton are reportedly keen on securing the services of Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed the Japan international’s fitness in recent seasons ahead of a potential medical this summer.
The 24-year-old played 36 league games last season and found the back of the net on five occasions.

Kubo expected to clear his medical without any issues
The former Barcelona graduate’s near impeccable injury history means he should be clearing his medical without any problem, according to Dr Brar.
Alan Myers claimed on 18 July that Kubo is the most likely next target for Everton as they’re keen on bolstering their attack.
Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Real Sociedad | 137 | 23 | 18 |
RCD Mallorca | 67 | 6 | 8 |
FC Tokyo | 30 | 6 | 4 |
Villarreal | 19 | 1 | 3 |
Getafe | 18 | 1 | 1 |
Yokohama F. Marinos | 6 | 1 | 1 |
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said about Kubo: “He suffered no injuries last season, which is ideal for any club looking to sign him.
“Even in recent years, there haven’t been any standout setbacks and it’s a positive.
“I see him facing no issues with his medical, either.
“It could take a few weeks for him to adapt to the Premier League, but nothing out of the ordinary.”

Everton must seriously consider signing Kubo
Everton should sign Kubo to enhance their attacking dynamism under David Moyes for the 2025/26 Premier League season.
The 24-year-old Real Sociedad winger offers pace, creativity and versatility to fill the void left by Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom’s loan departures.
Kubo’s ability on the ball aligns with Moyes’ need for a high-intensity, direct right-winger to complement Thierno Barry.
The attacker dubbed the Japanese Lionel Messi’s youth and potential resale value make him a strategic signing to boost Everton’s survival chances and support their ambitious project at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
