Adam Aznou to start Everton medical to formalise transfer, deals now agreed
Everton are close to finalising their fourth summer transfer in Adam Aznou.
David Moyes has been keen to add more new faces to his depleted squad following the arrivals of Thierno Barry, Carlos Alcaraz, and Mark Travers.
One of the key areas of concern for the Scotsman has been at left-back, with Vitaly Mykolenko the only recognised player within the squad suited to that role.
Moyes will be pleased to finally tick that position off the list as Everton make quick progress on a deal for Bayern Munich sensation Aznou.

Medical booked for Aznou on Sunday as clubs agree on fee
Everton reported an interest in Aznou earlier this week, but have quickly progressed with the deal as they hope to involve the youngster in their pre-season tour in the U.S.
The 19-year-old joined the German giants from Barcelona’s academy in 2022 and spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Valladolid.
Club | Appearances | Starts | Minutes Played |
Real Valladolid | 13 | 10 | 874′ |
Bayern Munich | 4 | 0 | 25′ |
The highly-rated teenager already has three caps for Morocco, and is now on the verge of joining Everton, as Fabrizio Romano reported that a medical will start on Sunday (27 July).
The Blues already have a verbal agreement in place with Aznou [Florian Plettenburg], and have settled on a fee with Bayern for over £7.8million with potential add-ons.
Only minor details are to be finalised before The Friedkin Group can sign off on the deal and officially welcome the talented defender to Merseyside.
Aznou has plenty of pace and energy to his game, and will give Moyes plenty of options with his versatility, as he has played a handful of his appearances in a more traditional left-wing role.
Aznou part of Moyes’ push to rejuvinate squad
The impending arrival of Aznou points to Moyes’ strategy to prioritise younger players as he seeks to rejuvenate the squad.
Everton had the second-oldest squad in the Premier League last season and have already extended the contracts of three veterans well into their thirties: Idrissa Gueye, Seamus Coleman, and Michael Keane.
Moyes has understandably been keen to keep his well-seasoned and trusted veterans ahead of the big move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but has also recognised the need for more athleticism in the squad.
Aznou is certainly one to watch next season.
