Everton in ‘front row’ for Douglas Luiz transfer as Juventus get in touch
Everton could potentially pull off a sensational move for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz this transfer window.
The Brazilian ace seems to be unsettled in Turin, and a return to the Premier League could be on the cards.
Luiz is a target at Bramley-Moore Dock, and his exit from the Serie A outfit seems inevitable after failing to turn up for pre-season training.
With the ex-Aston Villa star on David Moyes’ radar, the Blues have an opportunity to seal a deal for the 27-year-old as they are one of the frontrunners.

Juventus speak with Luiz as Everton lead transfer race
Nottingham Forest and the Toffees are in the “front row” to sign Luiz in the ongoing transfer window, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The news outlet reports in its print edition (26 July, page 7) that Juventus have spoken with the ex-Manchester City ace, with the midfielder indicating a return to training next week.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 175 | 20 | 18 |
It’s been claimed that the Brazil international’s exit from the Bianconeri is “obvious” before the end of August, and a loan with an obligation to buy could see him return to the Premier League.
The Merseyside outfit would arguably pull off a great coup if they manage to sign the 27-year-old, who was one of the best midfielders in England during his time at Villa.

Moyes to be delighted with Luiz transfer at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Mark Travers signed for the Toffees from Bournemouth, becoming their third addition of the summer window.
The Blues were in need of a backup goalkeeper after losing Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia at the end of last season, but fans expected more activity from The Friedkin Group (TFG) in L5.
Carlos Alcaraz’s loan from Flamengo was made permanent, while former Villarreal striker Thierno Barry became the Blues’ marquee addition.
Everton have taken several youngsters on their US tour due to a lack of senior players in the first-team squad.
The Toffees evidently need a number of new players to come through the door in the coming weeks to strengthen most of the positions in the team.
While the midfield doesn’t seem to be a priority for now, Luiz could bring much-needed experience and quality at the Hill Dickinson Stadium to make further progress under Moyes next season.
