Everton make £31.4m Fofana offer as quick transfer agreement on cards

Everton are pushing to seal the blockbuster signing of Malick Fofana.

The young Belgian winger has caught the eye of the footballing world at Lyon, with the likes of Liverpool and Nottingham Forest credited with strong interest already.

It’s the Toffees who are taking that extra step forward, though, with advanced talks possibly already underway over a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Now, Everton have gone one step further with an opening offer of £31.4million.

Everton could seal quick Fofana transfer agreement

Fofana could be set for the Premier League very shortly.

According to L’Equipe, Everton’s bid is just below what Lyon have demanded to open serious transfer negotiations, with £34.9m wanted in fixed terms.

The French outlet has reported that an agreement could be reached fairly quickly on those terms, with contract talks also underway with Fofana already.

Now that the opening offer has been officially lodged, things could be set to heat up, even if that bid is rejected straight out by Lyon and John Textor.

Friedkins explode into transfer action

Despite spending big money on Thierno Barry and adding the likes of Mark Travers and Carlos Alcaraz, there was some discontent around the early transfer action on Merseyside.

The exits of several big names at the end of their contracts, like Abdoulaye Doucoure, didn’t help.

Although Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom were poor on loan last season, to say the least, losing them on top leads to a serious lack of squad depth in blue.

Fofana doesn’t just address that, but he would come in as a young superstar and an almost guaranteed starting option for David Moyes and his team.

Everton have missed these kinds of players in the final third for far too long, and bringing in Fofana and Barry in the same window would blow that out of the window.

Should Fofana sign for upwards of £30m, there would be sheer ecstasy around the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with that season opener against Leeds only weeks away.
