TFG address major issue for Moyes as Everton exchange Aznou documents
Everton are finally closing in on another key signing after some transfer window frustration in recent weeks.
Several targets have come and gone, including Samuel Lino, but the Toffees have now further strengthened their squad.
Everton needed both extra depth and quality at full-back, and left-back was a particular issue heading into the summer window, but this has now been addressed as Adam Aznou has been targeted.
David Moyes is in need of reinforcements, and The Friedkin Group have delivered one important signing as a deal is now agreed.

Everton agree deal for Aznou
Everton’s interest in Bayern Munich sensation Aznou first emerged in recent days, but this quickly advanced, and a deal has now been agreed.
Aznou made his first-team debut for Bayern in November 2024, before heading to La Liga bottom side Real Valladolid on loan in the second half of last season.
Team | Matches played | Goals | Assists |
FC Bayern II | 18 | – | 1 |
FC Bayern U19 | 15 | 2 | 2 |
Real Valladolid | 13 | – | – |
FC Bayern YL | 13 | 3 | 5 |
FC Bayern U17 | 9 | 2 | 1 |
Bayern Munich | 4 | – | – |
An attacking left-back, Aznou will now head to Merseyside in a deal reportedly worth around £7.8million plus add-ons, with a club-to-club agreement between Everton and Bayern now reached, as reported by Fabrizio Romano (26 July).
Documents are now being exchanged, and a medical will take place in the coming days, before Aznou is announced as another permanent signing after Carlos Alcaraz, Thierno Barry and Mark Travers.
Aznou fills a priority position of need for Everton
Moyes is clearly desperate for signings, and left-back was a particularly problematic area following the departure of Ashley Young.
Vitaliy Mykolenko was the only left-back at the club in recent weeks, and a more attacking option is needed anyway.
Aznou can fill this role, as well as arriving as a young starlet who can develop into a long-term option, and will split the minutes in the position with Mykolenko.
The 19-year-old has also spent time in Barcelona’s academy, and is an exciting addition to an otherwise ageing back line at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Everton fans have been critical of TFG amid the slow progress in the transfer window this summer, but they have now moved quickly to address this area of need for Moyes as a priority.
