Everton predicted XI v West Ham: Travers in, Moyes to make defensive change

Everton face West Ham United next in the Premier League Summer Series after losing to Bournemouth on Saturday.

David Moyes’ team travelled to the MetLife Stadium on 26 July, with the Cherries winning 3-0 after goals from Philip Billing, Dango Ouattara and Daniel Adu-Adjei.

Soldier Field will host the Toffees and West Ham on 30 July, and the Scottish manager will be hoping for a bounce-back against one of his former sides.

The Blues are working on signing Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich, but he may not arrive in time for the game against the Hammers.

Mark Travers to start as Michael Keane to replace Tim Iroegbunam in West Ham v Everton

Mark Travers may start for the Toffees in goal against Graham Potter’s team in the United States.

The former Bournemouth goalkeeper played 90 minutes in the Blues’ 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers earlier in the pre-season and will certainly hope for a different outcome at Soldier Field.

Moyes could also potentially make a change in his defensive system after shipping three goals against Bournemouth, with Michael Keane partnering Jake O’Brien, and Nathan Patterson and Vitalii Mykolenko as full-backs.

Tim Iroegbunam feels like the right candidate to drop from the starting lineup, with Sheffield United wanting to sign the ex-Aston Villa ace.

James Garner, Idrissa Gueye and Carlos Alcaraz could possibly form the midfield trio for Moyes as he prepares for the start of the Premier League.

Dwight McNeil, Iliman Ndiaye and Beto may be tasked with creating better opportunities, and the Scottish manager will definitely be watching their performances closely.

Moyes should demand more transfers from The Friedkin Group in pre-season

Olympique Lyon forward Malick Fofana has emerged as a concrete target for the Toffees, although a move to L5 may not be his first choice.

Everton have had plenty of time to bolster their squad in the ongoing transfer window, but have only made three additions so far.

The Friedkin Group (TFG) knew Moyes needed a host of new players this summer after the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ashley Young left as free agents.

With a host of young players on tour with the Merseyside outfit to make up numbers, it will be interesting to see how the Scottish manager approaches the West Ham game.
