Everton would accept over £30m for Beto sale as fresh speculation emerges
This article includes exclusive comment from former Everton scout Bryan King.
Everton have been facing a dilemma regarding Beto’s future since the start of the summer.
The striker’s performances have largely left a lot to be desired throughout his time on Merseyside, but his impressive form towards the end of last season has perhaps altered David Moyes’ stance on him.
The Guinea-Bissau international plays a useful role within the side, but the arrival of Thierno Barry is likely to have pushed him down the pecking order.
Everton are facing interest in Beto from other clubs, and they look set to have a key decision to make over where he will play his football this term.

Everton to demand £30m for Beto amid Atalanta interest
Speculation surrounding Beto’s potential departure from Everton has once again heated up, following the conclusion of a deal in Italy.
Atalanta have just sold Mateo Retegui to Al-Qadsiah for around £58.8million, and they are believed to have the Toffees’ star as one of the names on their shortlist to replace their key man.
It remains to be seen how Moyes and Co. will approach the interest in the 27-year-old, given that they are currently lacking depth at the top of the pitch.
Ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that Everton will want at least £30m for Beto if they do choose to allow him to leave.
“He (Beto) finished the season quite strongly,” King said.
“He was always involved in goals in the latter part of the season.
“I don’t think Moyes would want him to go, certainly when he’s bringing in a new player. It’s a great way to introduce Barry, to play him up front with someone who’s been at the club for a couple of years.
“I think they (Everton) would want at least £30m for him.
“They don’t have a big squad at Everton. That’s why I can’t believe that they would want to get rid of players when they’ve got so few of them as it is.
“Strength in depth is what you need in the Premier League.”

Beto still has a role to play at Everton
Everton need to get additional attacking options through the door this summer, but that shouldn’t necessarily come at the expense of their current players.
| Season | Apps | Goals | Assists |
| 2024/25 | 34 | 10 | – |
| 2023/24 | 37 | 5 | 2 |
| Total | 71 | 15 | 2 |
Beto isn’t the most prolific striker around, but he does vital groundwork for the team, and he is a crucial part of the way Moyes wants to set up his side.
The Scot made the Toffees difficult to beat in the second half of last season, and Beto’s presence was vital to occupy centre halves and allow his team to get up the pitch.
He certainly has his flaws, but he is the kind of player that Everton may only realise they miss when he is gone.
