Friedkins to hang head in shame at Everton after honest Moyes transfer admission
Everton fans will be rightly asking The Friedkin Group (TFG) questions about the ongoing transfer window at Bramley-Moore Dock.
Former Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers became the Toffees’ third addition of the summer, but more arrivals were undoubtedly expected by now.
Bayern Munich left-back Adam Aznou could potentially be the fourth signing at the Hill Dickinson Stadium soon, with just over a month left before the end of August.
The Blues lost 3-0 to Bournemouth on Saturday (26 July) in the Premier League Summer Series in the United States, and David Moyes was seemingly frustrated in his post-match interview.

Moyes admits Everton needed more transfers earlier after Bournemouth loss
Moyes admitted that the Toffees need several new signings in the ongoing transfer window.
The Scottish manager believes the Blues’ supporters are aware of their predicament due to the lack of players in the first-team squad.
Player | Previous team |
Carlos Alcaraz | Flamengo |
Thierno Barry | Villarreal |
Travers | Bournemouth |
TFG should hang their heads in shame for arguably not backing the 62-year-old head coach so far this summer, as he had hoped for more additions sooner.
Speaking to the media, as relayed by Liverpool Echo journalist Tony Scott on X (27 July), Moyes said: “The supporters are hugely aware we need to bring a bunch of players in. I wish we could have had them earlier to help us, but er.”
Dan Friedkin must show ambition at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Olympique Lyon forward Malick Fofana has emerged as another target for the Toffees, but it remains to be seen whether they can get a deal over the line for him.
The 20-year-old Belgium international’s arrival at the Hill Dickinson Stadium will certainly be a statement of intent from Dan Friedkin, but the Blues have been in desperate need of quality signings for several weeks now.
Due to the Club World Cup, the Merseyside outfit have had an extended transfer window this summer, but they have undoubtedly failed to address the lack of depth in their squad.
Everton signed Thierno Barry from Villarreal after losing Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja ahead of next season, but Moyes should demand more attacking additions.
The defence also arguably needs reinforcements at full-back after Ashley Young’s departure.
While strengthening the midfield won’t be a priority for the Scottish manager, he could undoubtedly do with more quality in the engine room.
TFG need to focus on giving the 62-year-old head coach the right tools if they hope for success in the upcoming campaign, but only time will tell how much the American owners will invest before the end of August.
