TFG ready to strike as Everton register interest in Maitland-Niles

Ainsley Maitland-Niles has attracted interest from Everton.

So far, David Moyes will be pleased with the business done by Everton, though he will be fully aware of the fact that there is still a lot more for the Toffees to do ahead of the Premier League campaign.

Thierno Barry’s arrival subdued the concerns over the striker department, while Everton will be looking to add depth across various areas of the squad.

Maitland-Niles has shown his agility to do that in the past, with a new update emerging on his future.

Maitland-Niles could be perfect for Everton

According to Mark McAdam via X (28 July), Everton have shown an interest in signing Maitland-Niles this summer, with two years left on his deal at Lyon.

The Toffees have already been linked with a move to sign his teammate Malick Fofana, and are now looking to bolster their defensive options with the Englishman.

Maitland-Niles made 43 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants last season and featured regularly as a right back, though his versatility in the past has seen him cover several other positions.

If the Toffees pursue this deal, it could prove to be a really smart one, though much of it will depend on the finances involved.

Maitland-Niles previously played in the Premier League for Arsenal, though he failed to nail down a regular starting position.

Moyes still needs more at Everton

Everton have serious potential for a good campaign next time out, though much of it will hinge on who they can recruit in the next few weeks.

There are still some areas lacking serious quality in the current side, and that will need to be addressed as a matter of urgency before focus turns to adding depth.

However, TFG have shown their ambitions so far this summer, and have certainly earned the trust of those on Merseyside to deliver what is needed.
