Thierno Barry ‘will be fuming’ after new Everton transfer admission from Moyes
Thierno Barry could be set to have a frustrating season in Merseyside.
After signing from Villarreal for £27million, there was hope that Barry would be the first of multiple statement acquisitions as Everton prepare for life in the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
To this point, Carlos Alcaraz and back-up goalkeeper Mark Travers have joined the 22-year-old French striker as new signings for David Moyes.
With the window being far from inspiring so far, Barry may begin to regret his decision to join the Blues, particularly after Moyes’ latest admission.

Everton have work to do in the market, according to Moyes
Malick Fofana would have represented the type of ambitious business that Evertonians would have wanted to see more of so far this summer, but a move for the Belgian winger now looks unlikely.
Speaking to The Athletic (28 July), Moyes admitted that he’d have hoped the Toffees would have been “much further down the line” when it comes to new additions, claiming to want close to 10 new players by the time the window slams shut.
With a staggering nine Premier League teams in European competition next season as well as opposition from abroad, Everton have been finding it hard to land their transfer targets as “a lot of them have said no.”
This type of message from his manager will be sure to infuriate Barry, who would have been hoping to be leading the line in an exciting new era for the Blues next season.
If Everton do not get more ambitious reinforcements in and around their new forward, they could quickly find themselves languishing in the lower part of the mid-table pack as opposed to being ambitious and securing a top-half finish, with the aim to eventually reclaim a spot in Europe.
The last thing Everton supporters want to see as they take their seat in their shiny new stadium is the likes of Jack Harrison failing to find the target with his crosses again, due to him being a last resort signing after more ambitious moves fell through.

More signings needed to keep Barry happy
If Barry enjoys a successful debut season in Merseyside, but Everton ultimately finish 16th, for example, due to Moyes not being equipped with the right tools in the market, the Frenchman’s stay at the Blues could be short-lived.
If Barry looks around his dressing room and sees players who are evidently not good enough to help the Toffees progress, then it would be an unreasonable expectation of him to expect him to stay.
We see time and time again, even when clubs are doing well, their star players are poached by the so-called ‘big six’, so for Everton to stand a chance a keeping their best players and attracting new quality ones, they must show they are heading in the right direction.
It is up to The Freidkin Group to sell this project to these new talents, but with the opening game of the Premier League season against Leeds United rapidly approaching, more investment is needed immediately.
