Agbonlahor drops ‘terrible’ Everton verdict in response to Grealish transfer latest

Everton have been handed a reality check amid links to sign Manchester City forward Jack Grealish this transfer window.

The 29-year-old seems to be out of Pep Guardiola’s plans at the Etihad Stadium after being left out of the Club World Cup squad.

Grealish could move to Bramley-Moore Dock in the coming weeks, with the Toffees one of the teams targeting an ambitious bid for him.

David Moyes wants the Man City star at the Blues as he looks to build a team around him, but the England international has been sent a warning.

Everton transfer could be frustrating for Grealish

Grealish has seemingly been advised against a move to the Toffees unless they improve their squad.

Gabby Agbonlahor feels the 29-year-old may be dissatisfied at the Blues due to the apparently poor quality of Moyes’ squad right now.

The ex-Aston Villa striker has slammed the Merseyside outfit after their terrible record during pre-season, losing to Bournemouth and Blackburn Rovers.

Speaking on talkSPORT (29 July), Agbonlahor said: “Everton… I think it could be frustrating if they don’t improve that squad. And in pre-season, they’ve been terrible.”

Grealish won’t be convinced about Bramley-Moore Dock transfer

Napoli are among Grealish’s potential suitors this summer, and it would be surprising to see him snub the Serie A champions for the Toffees.

Antonio Conte has revitalised the likes of Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour in Italy, and the Man City forward may be lured by that.

The England international has been fighting for major honours for several years now, which may not be likely at the Merseyside outfit.

Grealish may also have to take a pay cut at Everton, which could potentially be another hindrance.

Adam Aznou became the Toffees’ fourth signing of the summer after arriving from Bayern Munich, but Moyes arguably needs more quality options at his disposal to have a competitive squad ahead of next season.

The Merseyside faithful will admit Grealish doesn’t seem like a realistic target for them, but it will still be interesting to see what the future holds for him.
