Bundesliga expert shares lowdown on latest Everton recruit Adam Aznou
Everton have confirmed the signing of Bayern Munich left-back Adam Aznou.
The 19-year-old will link up with David Moyes‘ side after an £8million deal was agreed with the Bundesliga champions.
Aznou will compete for the starting spot in Moyes’ line-up with current incumbent Vitaliy Mykolenko, who featured 35 times in the Premier League last season.
It is an exciting signing, but there are question marks over his ability to beat the Ukrainian to a place in the team.

This article features the exclusive opinion of Bundesliga commentator Kevin Hatchard.
Hatchard shares what he has seen from new Everton man Aznou
Aznou’s signature could be a real coup for the Hill Dickinson Stadium outfit, if he fulfils his potential.
However, Hatchard believes that we have not seen enough of the new Toffees star to make a judgement at the moment.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, renowned broadcaster Hatchard said: “We’ve seen so little of him as a first-team player at Bayern.
“He’s played a handful of games in La Liga.
“He’s clearly talented and good on the ball, but he has very little in the way of a track record.”

Aznou can be a star at Everton
The 19-year-old started his career at CF Damm before joining Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy in 2019.
He would spend three years with the Catalan giants and then moved to Bayern in 2022, and made his debut for the senior side in November 2024, in a 3-0 win over Union Berlin.
Stats | Aznou (Valladolid, La Liga) | Mykolenko (Everton, Premier League) |
Assists | 0 | 2 |
Interceptions | 10 | 44 |
Ground duels won | 75% | 58.9% |
Aerial duels won | 68.8% | 56.3% |
In total, he featured four times for the Bavarians first-team, and spent half of the 2024-25 season on loan with Real Valladolid in La Liga, where he featured 13 times.
He has been capped three times by the Moroccan national team, and his compatriot, Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi, sent a message after the move to the Blues was confirmed.
Moyes will hope that he can adapt to the demands of the top-flight quickly and fulfil the potential that saw two European heavyweights secure his services in their past.
Their loss could be Everton‘s gain, if he becomes a genuine superstar on Merseyside in the near future.
