Grealish transfer timeline: Everton line up ‘marquee’ signing after Man City development
Everton have been one of the frontrunners in the race to sign Jack Grealish so far this summer.
The England international has fallen badly out of favour at Pep Guardiola, and the Toffees are part of a queue of several clubs that are keen to offer him a way out of Manchester City.
Grealish’s wages at the Etihad Stadium will likely pose a stumbling block for Everton, but that hasn’t deterred them at all in their pursuit of the 29-year-old.
The Merseysiders have perhaps not had the transfer window that many were expecting so far, but that could be about to change.

Everton may be able to secure ‘marquee’ Grealish signing in August
David Moyes has recently expressed his frustration at Everton’s window, with the big-name addition that they have desired for several weeks having eluded them up to this point.
The Scot knows that he needs to add quality if he is to take the team to the next level, but he has had to remain patient while he and The Friedkin Group navigate the market.
Grealish has been of consistent appeal to the 62-year-old, and he could now be about to finally get his way following the latest update from Manchester City.
The attacker is training with the Citizens’ first-team squad this week, according to the Daily Mail (30 July), having previously been left out of their contingent that went to the Club World Cup.
It is understood that Moyes and Co. see Grealish as a potential “marquee signing.”
However, it has been suspected for a while now that they may have to wait into August before getting a deal done, given the context of the loan market at present.
There is expected to be no shortage of clubs that make proposals for the former Aston Villa man, and Napoli have already shown a keen interest.

Moyes could get the best out of Grealish
Everton could be the ideal move for Grealish to get his career back on track after a frustrating few years in Manchester.
Moyes is the type of manager who could easily make him feel valued and important, which in turn seems to draw the best out of him as a player.
The Toffees are badly lacking creativity in the attacking half of the pitch, and the City star could provide that in spades, providing the boss would be willing to let him off the shackles at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Grealish is somebody who needs to be left to do his own thing with the ball at his feet, but if Everton could help restore his confidence, then it could have a devastating effect on defences this term.
