Everton fans won’t like what German media have revealed about Adam Aznou’s behaviour

Adam Aznou became Everton’s latest signing this week after the left-back departed Bayern Munich.

The 19-year-old is highly rated and made his debut for the German giants last season.

However, the Moroccan international was given the go-ahead to leave the Bundesliga, with Everton signing Aznou on Tuesday.

David Moyes will no doubt be pleased to add a left-back to his squad after Ashley Young left Everton this summer.

However, Aznou may not be the bargain signing he is made out to be.

Aznou’s attitude questioned as new Everton signing is labelled ‘slacker’

Everton have brought the 19-year-old to the Hill Dickinson Stadium for £8 million.

Aznou has been labelled a talent by a Bundesliga expert after the move, as his reputation continues to grow ahead of his first Toffees appearance.

However, the media in Germany has held the full-back in a different light, criticising his attitude at Bayern before the transfer.

Aznou has not been afraid to spread his wings

Sky Sports Germany (30 July) claims that Aznou was “vehemently” pushing for a move after only featuring for eight minutes in the Club World Cup.

On top of this, the Moroccan had become a “slacker” in training, with manager Vincent Kompany becoming disappointed with his attitude.

Sky Sports reporters Kerry Hau and Torben Hoffmann stated on their FCB podcast Mia san vier: “We have heard from several sides that he let himself hang in training during the Club World Cup and has no longer displayed the attitude that FC Bayern needs.”

This is no doubt a massive warning for Everton, with Aznou unlikely to be a guaranteed starter this season.

Therefore, questions will be raised if this poor attitude will follow the full-back to the Toffees if his game time is limited.

However, the full-back is still young and will likely mature as time passes at the Merseyside club.

Everton still need several new signings

While the addition of Aznou is a positive one overall, the squad’s recent performances in pre-season have highlighted the need for multiple additions.

Everton were poor in their 2-1 defeat to West Ham on Wednesday, with fears of relegation continuing to grow.

If quality additions are not brought in, the Toffees will be in another fight for survival, and this season, they might not be as lucky.

Hopefully, Moyes has targets in mind and Everton will look to quickly make official moves before the start of the Premier League season.
