What Friedkin Group now need to do to avoid wrath of Moyes after West Ham loss

David Moyes has been less than impressed with Everton’s transfer window so far this summer.

Following their 2-1 loss to West Ham in a pre-season game in Chicago, Evertonians will be concerned about what Moyes had to say following the game.

The Blues boss was critical of their attacking play and was critical of the lack of transfer activity from Everton.

With big money signing Thierno Barry also failing to impress so far, alarm bells may be beginning to ring ahead of Everton’s move into the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Friedkin needs to secure a marquee signing for Moyes

Despite the recent arrival of Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich, Everton need more reinforcements going into the new Premier League campaign.

Everton arrivals so far this summer:

Moyes has admitted Everton have struggled with potential targets turning down a move to Merseyside, favouring clubs competing in Europe instead.

To keep his manager happy, Dan Friedkin and his Friedkin Group companions need to secure a marquee signing for Moyes ahead of next season.

Douglas Luiz has been linked with a move to the blue half of Merseyside, with the Brazilian being one of the finest midfielders in the Premier League before his departure to Juventus.

Beating Premier League rivals such as West Ham and Nottingham Forest to his signature would be a major boost for Everton as they enter this ambitious new era in the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Jack Grealish is another name that has been floated around and would also be a fantastic solution to Everton’s lack of quality out wide.

With a move for Lyon’s Malick Fofana unlikely, Grealish would be an equally impressive deal for the Blues to pull off.

If Everton could reignite the England international’s career, Moyes will have one of the most exciting players in world football on his hands who would be capable of dragging Everton up the Premier League single-handedly.

Moyes must be kept happy

Despite being a fantastic manager, Moyes is still underrated by some.

West Ham’s decision to let Scotsman shows that the grass isn’t always greener as they attempted to bring a trendier name in to replace him.

Since taking over from Sean Dyche for his second spell in charge at Everton, he has worked wonders and guided them to a 13th-place finish, 23 points clear of the relegation zone.

Moyes has proven in the past he is a manager capable of dragging clubs into the European positions and if TFG want a keep a manager of this calibre happy, they must back him in the market.

It’s clear Moyes loves Everton, but the last thing TFG needs is the Scotsman walking out after a poor start to the Premier League campaign because an adequate number of signings were not brought in.
