Douglas Luiz to force next exit? – Three players Everton could sell before transfer deadline

Everton will be looking to pick up from where they left off in the Premier League last season.

David Moyes took over from Sean Dyche and guided the Toffees to an impressive 13th-placed finish.

The owners are backing the Scotsman in the transfer window this summer and the hope will be to make it to the top half.

Goodison News looks at three players who could leave the club this summer.

Harrison Armstrong

Harrison Armstrong has been playing for the club regularly in pre-season, but an exit cannot be ruled out.

Last season, the 18-year-old midfielder was loaned out to Derby County in January and he had a good spell there.

The Toffees may decide to loan him out again in order to give him regular playing time for his development.

If Armstrong is to leave Everton, there’s understood to be a queue of clubs willing to secure his services. (Alan Nixon, 21 July)

Tim Iroegbunam

Everton may part ways with Tim Iroegbunam if they sign Douglas Luiz due to overlapping roles and squad management needs.

Iroegbunam joined from Aston Villa last summer, but his limited Premier League experience and current role as a squad player make him expendable if Luiz, a proven Premier League player.

His versatility, experience, and ability to control midfield would likely prioritise him over Iroegbunam, who could be loaned or sold to ensure regular playing time elsewhere, aligning with the Toffees’ strategy to balance squad depth and financial constraints.

Juventus are reportedly open to selling Luiz amid interest from the Merseyside outfit.

Youssef Chermiti

Thierno Barry joined Everton this summer and another attacker may also be on the way.

This would put Youssef Chermiti further down in the pecking order at the Merseyside club.

The Portuguese striker has struggled for form and fitness since moving to the Toffees and a loan move away could benefit his development.

Alternatively, if a decent offer arrives, the hierarchy may even decide to cash in on the 21-year-old striker.
