Everton make call to seal their biggest signing yet under TFG
Everton haven’t enjoyed the transfer window they were hoping for in TFG’s first summer in charge.
Supporters of the Toffees will be hoping for further new additions as they enter a new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium next campaign.
However, David Moyes has been left frustrated at the lack of signings for the Blues, with Thierno Barry, Adam Aznou and Mark Travers the only new faces so far.
The Premier League season is now just a few weeks away, and The Friedkin Group have a big decision to make.

Everton make Douglas Luiz call amid interest from rivals
Everton are pushing to strengthen their midfield, with Southampton’s Tyler Dibling firmly on their radar.
Having lost Abdoulaye Doucoure at the end of last season, the Toffees are also in need of a box-to-box midfielder, which is where Douglas Luiz could come into play.
Luiz has been heavily linked with a move to Merseyside this summer, with Juventus looking to recoup most of the £34.5million they paid for the Brazilian.
Season | Apps | Goals | Assists |
2023/24 | 35 | 9 | 5 |
2022/23 | 37 | 6 | 6 |
Total | 72 | 15 | 11 |
According to transfer expert Fabriziano Romano on X (1 August), Juventus are aware of three Premier League clubs in direct contact with Luiz’s camp.
Everton and Nottingham Forest have both been discussing his availability in recent days, and are now seemingly waiting on a decision from the club.
Given Juventus’ desire to sell Luiz, along with the Brazilians dip in form, it would be hard for the Italians to attract anyone willing to pay £34.5million.
Therefore, we could see the Blues and Nottingham Forest try to play hardball in the race for the 27-year-old.
Luiz would be crucial for Everton
Luiz would help Everton challenge at the right end of the table.
The Brazilian was immense for Aston Villa in the Premier League and has shown that he can do it all.
Amid interest from some of their top-flight rivals, the race for Luiz is a chance for TFG to make their first big investment in the squad and show that they can compete for big signings.
