Tyler Dibling signs? – Which Everton attacker Moyes could now axe
Everton have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Southampton star Tyler Dibling.
The Toffees are pushing to complete a deal under £30million for the 19-year-old who showed promise despite the Saints’ relegation last season.
Dibling enjoyed a strong breakout campaign and has attracted interest from a lot of clubs, with the Blues first to make a move.
Should David Moyes complete the transfer, he will be faced with a dilemma in attack.

Dwight McNeil could make way for Dibling
McNeil has struggled to nail down a starting place at the Toffees after contending with plenty of injuries since joining from Burnley.
Everton have already had an initial £27million offer for Dibling rejected, and should they push to complete the deal, McNeil could find his starting place at risk.
Player | Goal contributions |
McNeil | 13 |
Dibling | 7 |
- McNeil averaged a goal or assist every 119 minutes last season
- Dibling averaged one every 316 minutes
- McNeil missed 1869 minutes of Premier League football last season
Though only 25, McNeil’s injury problems will only worsen over time.
Should the Blues receive a significant offer in the coming weeks for the former Burnley winger, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see The Friedkins Group pounce on a potential sale and invest elsewhere.
Both Dibling and McNeil won’t be happy to be the second choice at left wing, and they equally won’t be eager to be pushed out of their natural position to accommodate the other.
Everton still need incoming funds in order to buy players of their own and comply with Profit and Sustainability rules, and McNeil could be a lucrative sale should they pull it off.

Moyes must sign players before selling
Everton are short of reinforcements after losing multiple players at the end of last season.
The Blues can ill afford letting McNeil leave until they add further depth in the attacking third.
Moyes has been linked with a reunion with Jack Harrison following his loan spell last season, though should the Toffees move for the Leeds man, they could face backlash from the Everton faithful.
