Southampton demands for Dibling emerge as Everton prepare second offer

Everton are determined to see Tyler Dibling light up the Hill Dickinson Stadium as they prepare a second offer for Southampton.

David Moyes has been keen to strengthen his squad this summer, and the Toffees seem to have gotten the memo these past couple of weeks.

Everton have started to pick up the pace in the market with Adam Aznou the latest to join the Merseyside club.

However, the Premier League side are far from done and have set their sights on Dibling to complete their competitive squad.

Southampton want over £40million for Dibling

The Toffees have already seen a £27million bid turned down for Dibling but are eager to return to the negotiating table.

As reported by The Independent on Saturday (2 August), Everton are pushing to sign Dibling but are currently well below the Saints’ valuation.

It is understood that the club are ready to make another move for the England Under-21s international. However, Southampton want more than £40m for the academy graduate.

With numerous Premier League teams gunning for his signature, Everton may need to meet the Championship club’s demands if they want to get his transfer over the line.

Dibling would be a good addition, but is he worth it?

There is no doubt that Dibling has a multitude of unearthed potential that Moyes could tap into at Everton.

The right winger has often drawn comparisons to Jack Grealish due to his impressive dribbling and close control. However, it is believed that the Southampton gem could go on to surpass the Manchester City star in almost every dimension.

Dibling is one of the most direct players in English football at the moment. Known for relentlessly taking on defenders while possessing the necessary physical traits to stand his ground, he has everything in his locker to become a world-class superstar.

Dibling is still quite raw

However, Southampton drive a tough bargain, and there remain doubts on whether this is a fair price to pay for a player still so raw. Indeed, if Everton were to meet the Saints’ demands, they would be taking a risk on the player Dibling could become, rather than what he has already demonstrated on the pitch.

Therefore, for £40m, Everton may be better off splashing the cash on someone with a little more experience.
