Juanlu Sanchez transfer imminent as Everton attempt to hijack Wolves deal

Everton could potentially bolster their defence with Sevilla right-back Juanlu Sanchez this transfer window.

Former Bayern Munich left-back Adam Aznou is the latest addition at the Toffees, who have made four signings so far.

Juanlu has emerged as a target at Bramley-Moore Dock, with the Blues making an approach for the 21-year-old in a transfer hijack of sorts amid interest from Wolves.

The Merseyside outfit could potentially be days away from rubber-stamping a deal for the Spanish national’s move to L5.

Sevilla want Juanlu sale to register new signings

Sevilla are looking to finalise Juanlu’s sale amid interest from the Toffees, according to Diario de Sevilla.

The news outlet reports via its print edition (3 August, page 57) that the LaLiga outfit are yet to register their new signings Gabriel Suazo and Alfon, but that could change with the 21-year-old right-back’s exit.

It’s been claimed that Wolves are leading the race for the Spanish defender, but the Blues are also monitoring his situation.

The Andalusian club will arguably want to cash in on Juanlu’s exit as soon as possible, and the Merseyside outfit could potentially take advantage of the situation.

Why Everton need Juanlu transfer this summer

David Moyes has already told The Friedkin Group (TFG) that he needs several new players at the Toffees before the end of August.

The Scottish manager has been forced to travel to the United States with a relatively weak squad for the Premier League Summer Series, as he lacks a lot of options.

With a number of youngsters accompanying the senior squad, the Blues evidently need to bolster their ranks in the coming weeks.

Everton have extended Seamus Coleman’s contract, but it remains to be seen whether the Irishman will be reliable, as he has suffered consistent fitness issues over the years.

Jake O’Brien was Moyes’ go-to right-back last season, although the 24-year-old should be played centrally to aid his proper development.

While Nathan Patterson has featured heavily during pre-season, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave before the ongoing transfer window, leaving the door open for Juanlu’s arrival at Bramley-Moore Dock.
