Everton make third Dibling offer as teenager ready to quit Southampton
Everton are not giving up their pursuit of Tyler Dibling as a third offer is sent to Southampton.
Dibling has been a name that has consumed headlines surrounding the Toffees as of late. The Southampton gem is considered one of the most promising stars in England, and Everton are keen to sign him.
But the Saints have not been overly accommodating to their pursuit, and his transfer seems like an uphill battle. However, the Blues have not abandoned ship, as a third offer hits Southampton’s desk.

Southampton reject £40million bid from Everton
As reported by The Times on Monday (4 August), Everton’s latest bid was worth around £40million in total.
This followed previous offers of £27m and £35m, but the Championship outfit are still seeking more than the latest bid for Dibling. The 19-year-old is keen to join the Merseyside club, but will need to wait for Southampton to relent for progress to be made.
- 21 February 2023: Dibling signs first professional contract at Southampton
- 18 December 2023: Dibling signs a new contract until 2026
- 17 August 2024: Dibling makes his first Premier League appearance in a 1-0 defeat against Newcastle United
There is no doubt that the Blues will not welcome this latest development, having seen three of their bids now rejected. The Englishman only has two years left on his contract, and the Saints’ position could cave in if the saga persists for another summer.

Everton may need to concede their Dibling pursuit
Everton may be at the table when it comes to signing Dibling, but it is clear that Southampton hold all the cards.
As a result, the Toffees may need to increase their offer once again before the Saints agree to a sale. Now £40m is a huge ask for any player, let alone a 19-year-old with little experience and everything to prove.
Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
2024/25 | 38 | 4 | 3 |
But Southampton do not want £40m – they want more. There is a huge possibility that the completion of this deal would entail closer to £50 or even more. To splash that amount on an unproven player when the squad requires reinforcements elsewhere is a gamble at best.
However, it comes down to whether the club and Moyes believe it is a gamble worth taking. World-class young talents are on the rise in football, with the likes of Lamine Yamal, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Desire Doue taking centre-stage.
Clubs are relying on their academies more, and their youth products are delivering on the biggest stages. Therefore, signing Dibling could be a huge gamble, but it could be the greatest risk Everton have taken in years.
