What Carragher has said about Dewsbury-Hall should get Everton fans excited
Everton are closing in on a deal to sign Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Everton have reportedly had a bid accepted by Chelsea for Dewsbury-Hall to bring the central midfielder to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Dewsbury-Hall, 26, is undoubtedly a talented player but has found himself to be a spectator for most of last season, given the impressive performances from the likes of Moises Caicedo.
With manager David Moyes urgently wanting to bring some new faces in for the blue half of Merseyside, Dewsbury-Hall could prove to be a valuable addition to his engine room.

Jamie Carragher impressed by Dewsbury-Hall
After Everton saw Abdoulaye Doucoure leave in the summer, reinforcing Moyes’ midfield became a natural priority during the transfer window.
Carlos Alcaraz made his move to Everton permanent, and he could be set to welcome another midfielder to the Toffees.
Whilst Dewsbury-Hall’s move to Chelsea may not have gone to plan, his stint at Leicester saw him develop into a very solid Premier League player.
Former Evertonian turned Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher previously said this about the Toffees’ latest transfer target for Sky Sports.
“You look at someone like Dewsbury-Hall – he may not be a headline-grabber every week, but he does everything right. He’s got a good touch, good engine and reads the game well. He’s a very tidy player.”
- Dewsbury-Hall has multiple seasons of Premier League experience under his belt, making a combined 72 top-flight appearances
- Had an outstanding campaign for Leicester in the 2023/24 season as they won promotion to the Premier League
- The midfielder scored 12 goals and had 14 assists as Leicester returned to the top-flight, earning him his move to Chelsea
With Everton also seemingly making progress on a deal for Tyler Dibling, the mood around the Toffees is beginning to become more positive ahead of their trip to Leeds on the opening day of the season.

Useful for Moyes to get these deals done ASAP
With the Blues set to face Roma in their final pre-season game next Saturday (9 August), it would be useful if TFG could wrap up the deals for Dibling and Dewsbury-Hall in time for the fixture.
This would allow the pair to familiarise themselves with their new teammates ahead of the new season, with Evertonians hoping it is the start of a more prosperous era in the Hill Dickinson Stadium as opposed to the final few years spent at Goodison Park.
Dewsbury-Hall would be a solid addition to Moyes’ side and would represent another smart addition by TFG.
