Everton predicted XI vs Roma: Dwight McNeil returns, new signings starts

Everton are set to face off against Roma in their final pre-season friendly of the summer on Saturday.

The Toffees are preparing to welcome the Serie A giants in the first men’s squad game in front of supporters at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

This will see excitement build on Merseyside on 9 August as supporters also await the first Premier League clash of the campaign away to Leeds United.

As a result, David Moyes is likely to name a strong starting 11 against the Italian outfit as supporters watch on at the new arena.

This could see a new signing come in from the start, with Dwight McNeil also potentially in line to feature in the starting 11 in L4.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could start for Everton v Roma

A familiar side is likely utilised by the Blues against Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, with just over a week remaining until opening night in the league.

This could see a typical back four take the field on Bramley Moore, with Jordan Pickford potentially to be joined by Michael Keane and James Tarkowski again.

The trio started last time out against Manchester United and could once again be flanked by Vitalii Mykolenko and Jake O’Brien.

Ahead of the backline, James Garner could be joined by new signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who may come straight into the side for his Everton debut.

This could see the former Chelsea man come in to sign Tim Iroegbunam, who may be utilised as a substitute later in the clash in L4.

Dwight McNeil could return to Everton starting XI

There is no doubt that the Toffees’ front line is looking increasingly positive at this stage of the summer.

Moyes can welcome McNeil back into the starting 11 with Iliman Ndiaye on the opposite flank in a dynamic and exciting-looking approach.

This duo could feature either side of Carlos Aclaraz, who will be keen on maintaining his positive run of pre-season form since permanently signing for the Toffees.

Then there is a decision for Moyes to make in the forward line between summer signing Thierno Barry or Beto against Roma.

On this occasion, it could be the Frenchman who gets the nod, having been left on the bench against the Red Devils last time out.

This will likely afford the Guinea-Bissau international to feature as a substitute with the hopes of proving himself to the Scottish head coach.
