Everton agree savvy Jack Grealish transfer clause, David Moyes will be key
Everton are closing in on a deal to sign Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City in one of the biggest Premier League transfers of the summer.
Everton are set to pay a large sum to cover Grealish’s wages in order to push a deal through.
Grealish has been out of the picture for a while under Pep Guardiola at City and will use his time at Everton as a chance to kickstart his career.
England international Grealish is now set to undergo a medical with Everton and, all going to plan, it will not be long before his arrival is announced.
And it has now emerged Everton have agreed a savvy arrangement with Man City when it comes to the terms of the contract.

Everton have option to purchase Grealish for £50m
Given Grealish cost Man City a then-record £100million to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa in August 2021, they understandably do not want to lose the winger on the cheap.
As per Fabrizio Romano via X on Monday, the loan deal will contain a £50m buy option clause that is not mandatory, with the player having the final say.
- Jack Grealish was the most fouled player in the Premier League during the 2020-21 season, with 109 fouls drawn.
That means City are potentially at risk of seeing Grealish return to the Etihad Stadium next summer with one less year to run on his contract – thus less of a chance of landing a hefty fee for him.
From Everton’s perspective it is a touch of genius, though, and the hope of course is that Grealish thrives and remains at the Hill Dickinson Stadium permanently.
It will be down to David Moyes to get the most out of Grealish and ultimately persuade him that staying at Everton is the right choice.
A £50m fee is of course substantial for Everton on the face of it, but it could look a steal come this time next year if Grealish performs to his old levels this campaign.
Everton not finished in summer transfer window yet
Grealish’s expected arrival will be a huge boost for everyone connected to Everton ahead of the new Premier League season starting.
The Englishman will hopefully not be the final player through the door this summer, however, as Leicester City’s Abdul Fatawu has also emerged as a target.
There are still a few weeks of the window to go, and there is no reason why Everton cannot continue adding to the squad between now and then.
