Everton beat Champions League clubs to Jack Grealish amid ‘desperate’ developments
Everton are closing in on the signing of Manchester City star Jack Grealish.
David Moyes is desperate to add some flair to his side ahead of the new Premier League campaign, which starts next Monday (18 August) for the Blues at Leeds.
Grealish would fit the bill, and he is keen on a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium to revive his career.
He has endured a tough time after being shifted to the left flank by Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium, with Everton now agreeing to a blockbuster loan deal.

King reveals Champions League interest in Everton target Grealish
Everton faced huge competition to sign Grealish, including elite clubs that could offer him the chance to play in the Champions League.
However, they seem to have beaten their rivals to his signature after they agreed on a loan deal with the Citizens and terms with the player.
Mail Sport journalist Dominic King claims that clubs in Europe’s elite competition were interested in the 29-year-old.
Speaking on talkSPORT (11 August, 7:40 am), he said: “I do know that he has had interest from clubs in Europe, that were playing in the Champions League.
“But if he listens to David Moyes and understands what he could possibly be given at the Hill Dickinson in terms of the adulation from fans.
“My social media is full of people desperate for him to come; they are desperate to love him. It could be a fabulous move all round.”
Everton set to sign Grealish
It is a testament to the work that the Friedkin Group and Moyes have done this summer to improve the reputation and the facilities on the blue half of Merseyside.
If the former Aston Villa man has chosen the Toffees over Champions League clubs, it is a huge sign that the club is heading in the right direction.
They need a marquee signing to make the new era and the move to a new ground, and now it appears that they have one.
Grealish is a truly elite player on his day, and he will likely get to show it more often without Guardiola’s tactical straitjacket, which forced him away from his maverick role as a number 10.
- Grealish has 27 goals and 31 assists in 190 Premier League matches
- Grealish featured 20 times in the top-flight last season, notching one goal and one assist
Ian Darke told Goodison News that it is a true statement signing for Everton, and will excite supporters and judging by King’s update, that is certainly true.
Whether he can turn up on the pitch remains to be seen, but if anyone can bring the best out of him and give him the freedom that he needs, it is Moyes.
