‘You are so wrong…’ – Allardyce destroys ‘unbelievable’ Jack Grealish to Everton claim

Sam Allardyce has leapt to the defence of new Everton signing Jack Grealish.

The former West Brom and Blackburn manager led the Goodison Park outfit in a six-month spell between 2017 and 2018.

The Blues had a great campaign under the veteran, finishing eighth in the Premier League, the second-best finish of the disastrous Farhad Moshiri era.

Grealish has joined Everton on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City, but not everybody is a fan of the England star’s latest move.

Allardyce hits back at Jordan over Grealish claims

Simon Jordan is no stranger to controversial claims; he has built a brand on purposely being a wind-up merchant.

However, former Blues boss Allardyce is having none of his latest comments on Grealish’s move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Ex-Crystal Palace owner Jordan had said that the Manchester City ace was making a mistake, as David Moyes does not like flair players.

Allardyce disagreed, speaking live on talkSPORT (13 August, 7:46 am), he said: “Absolutely, [supporters should be] very excited indeed.

“Simon [Jordan] was saying on the radio yesterday that he shouldn’t be going to Moyesy, Moyesy doesn’t like flair players.

“Simon, you are so wrong, it is unbelievable, you don’t know Moyesy mate, I do.”

Jordan is wrong, Moyes can get the best out of Grealish at Everton

When he is on form, Grealish is one of the most exciting players in English football.

Moyes will likely look to utilise him in the number 10 position, in a free role, where he excelled at Aston Villa, earning the £100million move to City.

What we know about Grealish’s Everton move so far:

The idea that Moyes does not like flair players is completely wrong; he had Iliman Ndiaye as a central part of his side last season.

The Senegal star ended up notching nine goals in the league, which suggests that his influence was not stifled by Moyes’ tactical approach.

The Scotsman is often pigeonholed as a defensive manager, but that is not necessarily the case.

While his teams do boast excellent defensive records, with the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski starring, he also did not have the attacking personnel that he needed last season.

That looks set to change with just over two weeks left in the transfer market, so it will be interesting to see if the assessment is the same after this campaign concludes or whether it shifts.
