‘David Moyes spells out clear message to Jack Grealish’ after Everton seal loan deal

Everton hit the headlines earlier this week as they completed the signing of Jack Grealish on loan.

The England international had fallen out of favour at Manchester City, and after months of speculation surrounding his next destination, the Toffees swooped in to offer him a way out of the Etihad Stadium.

David Moyes and Everton have chased a marquee signing all summer, and they have finally been able to satisfy that goal by securing the 29-year-old’s services for the upcoming campaign.

The winger will surely become a central part of the boss’ plans at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and there will be plenty of eyes fixed on Grealish to see if he can rediscover his best form.

Moyes issues clear message to Grealish as Everton move confirmed

Everton are believed to have the option to buy Grealish for a fee of around £50million at the end of the loan deal, which could create extra incentive for the wideman.

He will know that if he performs well, his loan club will surely be keen to keep him permanently, meaning he won’t have to return to Manchester City.

However, there remains a question mark as to whether the former Aston Villa star can get back to being the creative force that he once was.

Ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that Moyes will have already made it clear to Grealish that his off-field antics will have to stop if he is to succeed in his loan stint.

“It’s a signing that will cause great interest within the football club, and also with supporters, because you’re signing a loan player who previously cost £100m,” King said.

“What Jack (Grealish) needs is confidence and to play regular games; he could be a big asset for Everton.

But he must get his head straight, and I think Moyes is the man to help him do that.

“I would imagine that he’s spelt it out to him already. He’ll have told him to knuckle down and do his job because they’re giving him a second chance.

“Grealish is a very, very good player. He did well at Villa, and he did it at City when he first went there. He lost his way a bit there, but I don’t think it was any fault of his own.”

Moyes needs to give Grealish freedom on the pitch

Moyes could be the perfect manager for Grealish, given the level of discipline that he instils in his teams.

It appears to be a fine balancing act when dealing with the Englishman, as managers must combine a strict regime off the pitch, with a system that allows him the freedom to roam and dictate games when it comes to the football.

Moyes has proven over the years that he is an exceptional man manager, and he could play a crucial role in helping Grealish to get his career back on track.

If the boss can put an arm around his shoulder and make him feel like an important part of the plans, then it could unlock his ability once again and hand Everton a devastating talent.
