Richard Keys in awe of ‘stunning’ Everton news, one person to thank

Everton have secured some quality signings recently after David Moyes was initially frustrated with the Toffees’ lack of transfer activity.

During Everton’s pre-season tour in America, Moyes spoke about the need to bring more new faces to the Hill Dickinson Stadium before the new Premier League campaign kicks off.

Since then, The Friedkin Group have responded emphatically, securing the signatures of both Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Adam Aznou.

One of Everton’s new signings has particularly caught the eye of Richard Keys, however, who has labelled one piece of business in particular as “stunning”.

Keys wowed by the signing of Jack Grealish

Following Jarrad Braithwaite’s recent injury setback, Everton could be forced to delve back into the market for a centre-back before the window slams shut.

Despite this blow to his defence, Moyes will be happy with the attacking options that he has at his disposal as he enters the new campaign.

The arrival of Grealish represents a marquee signing and a real statement of intent as Everton prepare to embark on an ambitious new era.

Speaking on beIN SPORTS (13 August), former Sky Sports presenter Keys was excited for the Blues after they signed the England international.

“I think if the authentic, the real Jack Grealish turns up, I think it’s a stunning piece of business,” said Keys.

“For £12m, which is the loan fee… come on.”

Andy Gray also gave his thoughts on the move, with the former Everton man claiming there is one person to thank for getting the move over the line.

“The one he talked about that was a real bonus was David Moyes, David’s a big fan, loves Jack and thinks there’s plenty in the tank,” Gray said.

Grealish move has its risks despite his obvious quality

When Grealish is at the races, he is a joy to watch, and those in the Everton faithful will be eagerly waiting in anticipation to see him make his debut.

With it being a World Cup year, the winger has a point to prove if he wants to book his place in Thomas Tuchel’s squad next summer.

However, after barely kicking a ball last season, there is no guarantee that Grealish comes to Merseyside and immediately hits the ground running.

The Blues were smart to get the former Aston Villa ace on loan, because if his best days are well and truly behind them, then they will not be stuck with him on their books for multiple years.
