Michael Keane must surely be fuming amid quadruple Everton contract update
Michael Keane has started the season in fine form for Everton.
Keane was forced into the starting line-up after Jarrad Branthwaite was injured in training after Everton’s pre-season loss to Roma.
He has started all three of the opening three Premier League matches, and Branthwaite’s injury will be a major concern for Everton.
He will be livid after the latest contract news that emerged from the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Michael Keane not part of a raft of Everton negotiations
Jordan Pickford is set for a new Everton contract, with the Blues keen to keep hold of their star man for the foreseeable future.
Daily Mail reporter Dominic King echoed those claims on 5 September that Everton were set to reward Pickford with a new deal, and want him to stay until the end of his career.
He took to X to state that the club are also preparing to start talks with James Tarkowski, Vitaliy Mykolenko and James Garner in a quadruple update.
Keane, who is out of contract in the summer of 2026, was not included in the post, which does not bode well for his future.
Everton not preparing to offer Michael Keane a new deal
The Blues recently gave Keane a one-year extension to keep him at the club for the current campaign.
However, his future beyond that is in question, and the latest move will not inspire confidence that he will be handed a new deal.
- Keane has made 234 appearances for the Toffees
- Notched 16 goals and 10 assists in that time
- Played just 18 times last season, his influence has been steadily declining
The former Burnley man was kept around as a back-up option, which has worked out well, with Branthwaite’s latest issue, but it does not seem like he will be at Everton in the long term.
His performances when he did get on the pitch last season were hardly inspiring, although he has stepped up in the 23-year-old’s absence so far in this campaign.
However, it does not appear that Moyes sees him as a major part of his squad if the Blues are not including him in their new contract plans.
