How many records could Jordan Pickford break after Everton contract news

Jordan Pickford looks set to extend his Everton stay.

Pickford has become a fan favourite on Merseyside after joining from Sunderland in 2017, with the Everton stopper becoming England’s number one in the process.

Pickford has saved Everton so many times in recent years, and his contributions are set to be rewarded with a bumper five-year contract.

He is a key cornerstone of David Moyes‘ team, and the Scotsman will be relieved that he will be sticking around at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

What records could Jordan Pickford break at Everton?

Pickford could break an Everton record held by Seamus Coleman, for the most appearances for the club in the Premier League.

However, there are several more records that he could hold when he reaches the end of his new deal, which is set to keep him around until after his 36th birthday.

He needs just 75 matches to break Coleman’s record, but he could also dislodge Tim Howard as the Blues’ clean sheet leader in the Premier League; the American kept 116 in his time at Goodison Park.

Meanwhile, Pickford is already on 85, and if he stays for another five years, he should easily eclipse that figure.

Another Howard record that he could beat is the most top-flight penalty saves for the Toffees; the duo are currently tied on seven.

Jordan Pickford will be eyeing Premier League first

Pickford will be looking to become the first Everton stopper to win the Premier League’s Golden Glove award.

The 31-year-old came close in the 2024-25 campaign, finishing with 12 clean sheets, just one behind eventual joint-winners, Mats Selz and David Raya.

He will fancy his chance of doing so given Moyes’ reputation for building tight defences, and the fact that the Blues look likely to get better, rather than the decline, under the control of the Friedkin Group.
