
Katja Snoeijs achieves feat not seen in 26 years in Everton Women demolition of Liverpool
Everton Women continued their tradition of winning at Anfield in a 4-1 victory over Liverpool to open their WSL season on Sunday.
Despite the Reds taking an early lead, the Toffees completely turned the match on its head.
Ornella Vignola, who signed for Everton this summer, scored a hat-trick on her debut in a highly impressive performance.
In between her goals, Katja Snoeijs found the net just before half-time to give the visitors the lead in the Merseyside derby.
Now, the 29-year-old has achieved a stunning feat against Liverpool that hasn’t been seen since 1999.

Snoeijs has no doubt impressed at Everton since signing in 2022.
The striker has been vital at the Toffees for years, with Snoeijs being rewarded with a new contract at Everton last year.
During her time at the Toffees, she has scored some vital goals, with the Netherlands international proving to be clinical in the Merseyside derbies.
Snoeijs netted the winner against Liverpool last November at Goodison Park, with the striker also netting in the victory at Anfield in May.
Now, following her goal on Sunday, EFC Statta has confirmed via X on 7 September that Snoeijs has become the first Everton player to score in three consecutive women’s Merseyside derbies in the league since Kelly Shimmin in 1999.

Katja Snoeijs shines vs Liverpool Women
On top of her goal, Snoeijs had a great match at Anfield.
The striker was a menace inside the box and continued to cause problems for Liverpool.
According to Fotmob on 7 September, Snoeijs was excellent in attack and also helped out defensively.
