Ally McCoist shares new Jack Grealish verdict live on air after what he saw in England win

Jack Grealish is full of confidence following his Everton loan move from Manchester City.

Grealish made Everton history after becoming the first Toffees player to record two assists in back-to-back Premier League games.

Grealish was pivotal in Everton’s 2-0 win over Brighton and the 3-2 victory away at Wolves.

His early-season form has helped Everton to two wins in their first three matches as Everton sit fifth in the Premier League table.

Despite that, Thomas Tuchel left Grealish out of the England squad for the international break, with Ally McCoist believing this isn’t the end of the world for Grealish.

Ally McCoist backs Jack Grealish for the 2026 World Cup

Speaking on talkSPORT on Wednesday, McCoist believes that if Grealish keeps up his good run, Tuchel will have no choice but to take notice.

With the 2026 World Cup approaching, the next nine months will be pivotal for Grealish’s career, with the 5-0 win over Serbia proving that in-form players will be rewarded.

McCoist said: “I definitely think an in-form Grealish would make the final squad for the World Cup.

“Tuchel will bring in anybody that’s in form. I believe Grealish brings in something different, so I think if he continues playing well with Everton, there’s no reason why he can’t make the World Cup squad.”

The 30-year-old was a star for his boyhood club, Aston Villa, but following his £100m move to Manchester City, he has never been the same.

Everton signed Grealish with the intention of letting him roam as opposed to being stuck out wide on the touchline like he has for City.

Since joining Merseyside, he has been a man reborn and has already become a fan favourite with the Everton crowd.

Grealish will need to maintain his red-hot form, as Tuchel has several exciting options to pick from.

Jack Grealish is made for big stage with England

Whilst no English winger may be more in-form than Grealish at the moment, many of the England frontline have proven their worth for the Three Lions in recent times.

Bukayo Saka and Cole Palmer are guaranteed to be picked, whilst Anthony Gordon, Jarrod Bowen, and Marcus Rashford have all been frequently called up to the England squad.

Noni Madueke’s goal against Serbia has put him firmly in the mix, and despite his current struggles, Phil Foden’s quality could be viewed as invaluable by Tuchel in nine months.

Whilst Grealish offers something unique, it’s up to him to show Tuchel that he can perform at this level on a consistent basis.
